Press Release Author: Midtown Comics

Industry: Entertainment

Press Release Summary: JUMPSTART SUMMER BOXOFFICE

Press Release Body: New York, June 12, 2008: The Incredible Hulk is the Second film
from Marvel Studios (the first was Iron Man), and it smashes conventional barriers
in movie-making. State-of-the-art mixing of the digital with the real, the
Incredible Hulk is not a sequel, but rather a reboot for the big green guy onscreen.
The special effects have been created in such a way that the entire movie flows
like one long story where the Hulk has been made to look incredibly human.
Based on the Marvel Comic Superhero, the Incredible Hulk is directed by Louis
Leterrier, and the movie will be released in the USA on June 13, 2008 with Edward
Norton as Dr. Bruce Banner, a.k.a the Hulk. Betty Ross, who is the love interest of
Dr. Banner, is portrayed by Liv Tyler and Lou Ferrigno in a special unannounced
role.
The movie thrives on the various facets of the Hulk and the deep emotions that tear
Dr. Banner apart. It will be the ultimate portrayal of the beast within, and the
realism that lies in the interaction of the Hulk with human counterparts and the
world around him. The Hulk is considered a menace to mankind, but the film
ironically dwells primarily on human emotion. It has beautifully recreated the deep
emotions that pave way for anger and the lonely fight with one's own self: Dr.
Banner vs. the Hulk. The Incredible Hulk also introduces a new adversary (adapted
from the comic books) in the form of the Abomination, played by Tim Roth.
Abomination is a creation of General Thaddeus Ross for the purpose of subduing the
Hulk, but by a cruel twist of fate the creation turns against the creator and every
human and every thing. The only other man-thing powerful enough to stop the
Abomination is the Incredible Hulk.
A cameo by Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark (Iron Man) assures us that Marvel is
going where no studio has gone before: by creating the Marvel Universe onscreen,
just as it has always been in the comic books. Marvel Studios scores another hit
with The Incredible Hulk, and shows that nobody can adapt a Marvel Comic better than
Marvel!
The release of the film is accompanied by a plethora of Hulk comic books, graphic
novels and action figures, not the least of which is Skaar Son of Hulk #1, by Greg
Pak and Ron Garney. The most complete and up to date selection of Hulk comics and
graphic novels can be found at midtowncomics.com, as well as at their NYC stores in
Times Square and Grand Central. Writer Greg Pak has also been a guest at Midtown
Comics signing his work.
